UPDATE: FEBRUARY 14, 2020 Congratulations to Tori Sells of Monroe, NC on the purchase of Street Limit. This is Tori’s second Bits & Bytes Farm Thoroughbred purchase. Tori enjoys buying green horses and turning them into sp0rt horses. She then finds the perfect match for them as she did for Iron Run.
Street Limit is a 16.2 hand, 2014 bay Thoroughbred gelding for sale from his owner-trainer Becky. Becky and I have been placing horses together since 2001. Street Limit is Becky’s favorite horse and she has owned and trained him for most of his racing career. She is finally ready to let him find his next human and be a show horse.
Street Limit has no vices and we have his full medical history since birth. You won’t find that very often at the track. He has always been correctly taken care of and he is up to date on everything including his teeth. This horse was bred to run the mile and a half on the turf. You don’t find many long-distance races or turf races to make it worth keeping him in training. He might just make a great event horse since he loves running on grass and going long distances. This is a horse that will only be limited by the training he gets for his next career. He could go any direction whether it be endurance riding, trail riding, hunters, jumpers or 3-day eventing.
Street Limit is eligible for the Retired Race Horse Project if you are still looking for your easy to train horse that could compete in multiple divisions.
If you want a horse with personality, you have found him. Street Limit loves people and Becky taught him to bow in three minutes. He never forgets anything. He is very smart and likes to be handled and trained. He needs to be challenged or he will get bored. He is perfect and we mean perfect for the blacksmith. He loads on a ramp or step up trailer with no issues.
He has a small old splint on right front but he is clean legged otherwise. Street Limit wants a job and a special person who will be very interactive with him. He loves to give hugs and loves his baths including playing in the hose water. He cross ties and single ties with no issues. He loves carrots and black licorice. As for turn out, Street Limit can be turned out with mares or geldings. He is very easy-going in the pasture and usually lower on the pecking order. He is a gentleman.
Becky tends to dote on her horses, and she treats them like the special horses they are. Street Limit might need to be reminded that he is the horse not the human sometimes. Spoiled? Yes, but in a good way. He is good to ride on the track and is broke to a mounting block. He is a great mover and is really honest. Street Limit does not spook at anything. He is super curious and if he can reach it, it will end up in his mouth, in his stall or maybe even in his water bucket. He loves to play with a traffic cone. He needs a challenge for sure and is a very special horse to Becky and we want his next person to enjoy and love his as much as Becky does.
Please call for pricing. The price can go up or down depending on the owner. We always check with the owner when someone is a serious buyer. Many times the price goes down to a really good home. We do not own these horses so we cannot control the pricing. We will not sell a horse to just anyone with the money. We carefully select the horses we sell and we work hard to make a perfect match. If you don’t call, we cannot help you. We are not a rescue and our horses are not ‘rescue priced’. Most horses are between $2500 and $4500 – some higher and some lower. Call and we can talk more about our horses and let us help you find the perfect match. We take the gamble out of getting a Thoroughbred off-the-track. Learn more about how our Track Prospect Horses are priced on the main Bits & Bytes Farm website.
I look forward to speaking with you. Please call 770-704-6595 between 9am and 9pm. East Coast Time – Elizabeth Wood
What is the price of this horse?
Prices are not published because the price can go up or down depending on how the horse is racing. Most horses average $3500 but can be as low as $1000 or up to $5000. We will share the prices when you call. If the horse you call about is not in your budget, we may be able to recommend another horse that is.
What is the Jockey Club name of this horse?
Jockey Club names are not usually listed on the site as the sellers do not want calls from people who have not been screened by us for having the skills to help these horses into new careers. Most horses come with their Jockey Club papers and we will be happy to provide links to their race records and pedigrees when you make the decision to move forward with a purchase. Horses’ whose names are in quotes are not the actual name of the horse. That is the nickname we have listed the horse by.
Where is this horse located?
When we say this is a Prospect Horse, that means the horse is not at our farm in the Atlanta area. Prospect horses are still at the track or owner or trainer’s farm. We can tell you where the horse is when you call. Thoroughbreds move from track to track and to the farm and back. We cannot keep this web site current with so many horses listed and all moving around. That is why we don’t post the location. We are happy to share where the horse is when you call. We may have to make a phone call to find out where the horse is ourselves, but we are happy to share the info with you…if you call.

Lynn’s Vision aka Bubba at his last race – July 5, 2008. He was purchased by Melanie Eberhardt right after this race and brought back to Bits & Bytes Farm the next day. Melanie was riding him just one day later and he was a complete gentleman.
