Made In Her Image is a 2015, dark bay/black, 16.2+ hand Thoroughbred filly for sale. She is a fabulous mover and has a great laid-back personality. She has no vices and no past injuries. She has great feet. This is a really, really nice-looking filly. The photos do not do her justice as some were taken indoors due to weather. The other issue is that she is really, really black and it is hard to show any contrast to see just how pretty she is. The video of her trotting shows off her floaty moves.
Made in Her Image won a race which means now she now has to run against other horses who have also won a race. In her last two races, she demonstrated that she is not going to be competitive with the competition she will have to run against. She has only had 11 starts this year and one start as a two-year-old. Since she won her race she has run twice more finishing 7th and 9th.
Her pedigree is better than her race record. She is by Western Pride who was a multiple stakes winner and raced till he was five. Her dam is Made In His Image (see how she got her name?) who is by Southern Image – another stakes winner. Other well-known Thoroughbreds in her pedigree include: Secretariat, Raise a Native, Round Table, Mr. Prospector, Halo, Ac Ack, Hail to Reason and Dixieland Band.
UPDATE DECEMBER 2018: Made In Her Image aka ‘Mae’ got herself a little girl for Christmas! Congratulations to Reema Sherry of Nantucket, MA on the purchase of Made In Her Image. ‘Mae’ will spend the winter in training at Bits & Bytes Farm and move to Nantucket in April. Reema has waited many years to get herself another Thoroughbred. She had owned one as a child and has wanted another ever since. This Christmas her dream of owning another Thoroughbred has come true. See photos and videos of Made In Her Image in training at Bits & Bytes Farm on our Instagram page.
We know what her temperament is, because her owner tells us she has the same personality as Justnamehimeddie. ‘Eddie’ was a recent Prospect Horse For Sale who we sold in April 2018 to Jennifer Hartig. Jennifer brought ‘Eddie’ to Bits & Bytes Farm in Canton, GA for his initial training. When ‘Eddie’ came to the farm we could not believe how quiet and uncomplicated he was. See the video of Justnamehimeddie’s first ride after leaving the track. ‘Eddie’ was so special that Jennifer’s husband, Tom, decided he wanted to get his own Thoroughbred after riding ‘Eddie’.
Tom Hartig purchased Clanton’s Dancer aka ‘Dancer’ aka ‘Clancy’ with the caution that horses like Justnamehimeddie are special and hard to find and that Clanton’s Dancer might not be as sweet or quiet as ‘Eddie’. ‘Clancy’ turned out to be exactly like ‘Eddie’. Made In Her Image has the same personality and mind as Justnamehimeddie.
Made In Her Image and ‘Eddie’ have the same sire – Western Pride. All three horses come from the same trainer and he tells me that Made In Her Image is the best of all the horses we have sold for him. His horses are all really loving, smart and cuddly and talented. They have been handled and trained properly and fed well. They come off-the-track ready to go into sport horse training.
Made In Her Image’s sire, Western Pride, is a wonderful quiet easy to handle stallion. We have known him since he was three when he won the Ohio and West Virginia Derbies. He was so quiet at three, that you could lay down with him in the stall and snuggle. He passes this good mind and temperament to his babies including Made In Her Image. We were able to visit him when we picked up Clanton’s Dancer at the breeder’s farm. So you see, we know the family and the environment this filly is coming from. We have sold many horses for this trainer and we even brought one to the farm recently – Swear. Swear is also easy to ride and not at all spooky because he was trained properly at the track.
So now you know the secret of our success in matching Thoroughbreds. We learn as much as possible about their backgrounds, pedigree, health history and training. We are not just brokers listing anyone’s horse and knowing nothing about the horse’s background or health. We work with a select group of trainers and breeders that we know well and trust. They want us to find the right match for their horses and so they are open and honest their horses. We know they have told us the truth about their horses as all the horses get a pre-purchase done by the buyer and we stay in touch after the sale with the buyers. And, we also buy our personal Thoroughbreds from the same ‘vetted’ trainers and breeders.
Please call for pricing. The price can go up or down depending on owner. We always check with the owner when someone is a serious buyer. Many times the price goes down to a really good home. We do not own these horses so we cannot control the pricing. We will not sell a horse to just anyone with the money. We carefully select the horses we sell and we work hard to make a perfect match. If you don’t call, we cannot help you. We are not a rescue and our horses are not ‘rescue priced’. Most horses are between $2500 and $4500 – some higher and some lower. Call and we can talk more our horses and let us help you find the perfect match. We take the gamble out of getting a Thoroughbred off-the-track. Learn more about how our Track Prospect Horses are priced on the main Bits & Bytes Farm website.
I look forward to speaking with you. Please call 770-704-6595 between 9am and 9pm. East Coast Time – Elizabeth Wood
What is the price of this horse?
Prices are not published because the price can go up or down depending on how the horse is racing. Most horses average $3500 but can be as low as $1000 or up to $5000. We will share the prices when you call. If the horse you call about is not in your budget, we may be able to recommend another horse that is.
What is the Jockey Club name of this horse?
Jockey Club names are not usually listed on the site as the sellers do not want calls from people who have not been screened by us for having the skills to help these horses into new careers. Most horses come with their Jockey Club papers and we will be happy to provide links to their race records and pedigrees when you make the decision to move forward with a purchase. Horses’ whose names are in quotes are not the actual name of the horse. That is the nickname we have listed the horse by.
Where is this horse located?
When we say this is a Prospect Horse, that means the horse is not at our farm in the Atlanta area. Prospect horses are still at the track or owner or trainer’s farm. We can tell you where the horse is when you call. Thoroughbreds move from track to track and to the farm and back. We cannot keep this web site current with so many horses listed and all moving around. That is why we don’t post the location. We are happy to share where the horse is when you call. We may have to make a phone call to find out where the horse is ourselves, but we are happy to share the info with you…if you call.

Lynn’s Vision aka Bubba at his last race – July 5, 2008. He was purchased by Melanie Eberhardt right after this race and brought back to Bits & Bytes Farm the next day. Melanie was riding him just one day later and he was a complete gentleman.
